Panda Peace is a painting inspired by Tai Shan (‘Giant Panda’) a panda at the National Zoo in Washington DC.  Val visits the Zoo often and is quite fond of these cuddly animals.  Tai Shan was born in 2005 and is the first baby panda at the National Zoo who survived the longest.  He returned to China in 2010 and is now living in a protected forest.

While working in downtown Wilmington, Val would take lunch time strolls along the beautiful Brandywine River. This is how the painting got its name. The first ‘Lunchtime Promenade’ original painting was given as a gift to a good friend of Val’s so this painting was named number two.
